When Taiwan and China signed the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) in June 2010, it signaled an improvement in cross-Strait relations and the opportunity to boost trade between the two countries. However, there is much debate on whether the long-term impact of the agreement will strengthen the Taiwanese economy or make it more dependent on China. The Council would like to extend a special offer to all Contributors’ Circle members ($250 level and above) to attend a free luncheon on August 20, where Lin Junq-tzer, Minister without Portfolio for the Republic of China (Taiwan), Executive Yuan and Governor of Taiwan Province, will speak on “The Future of Taiwan after the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement.” Space is limited, so register now to ensure your seat.
Prior to his current position, Minister Lin served as Mayor of Hsinchu City and a delegate of the National Assembly. He is a founder of Leader University in Tainan City, Taiwan and was a founder and associate professor of Chung Hua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
