About the Ambassador:

Karin Olofsdotter is the first female Ambassador of Sweden to the United States. She began her foreign service career in 1994 when she served as Chief of Staff to several Swedish foreign ministers and as Director of the Ministers Office in Stockholm before joining the Embassy in Washington DC. Ambassador Olofsdotter also served as the Swedish Ambassador to Hungary from 2011-2014. She served as the Swedish EU representative in Brussels, working with European Security policy and defense issues and chairing the EU’s political-military group during the Swedish Presidency of the EU in 2001. Additionally, Olofsdotter has experience working with the Swedish delegation to NATO.
