The world's largest free trade zone is a big topic. And it inspires big discussions. Negotiations to create the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), underway since last July, have inspired proposals, protests and speculations.

In an attempt to enlighten North Texas about the benefits, obstacles, solutions and challenges to the trade zone, the World Affairs Council of Dallas Fort Worth in partnership with the Bertelsmann Foundation will host a TTIP Town Hall session on Friday, May 16.

This event will feature speakers and panelists:

  • Amir Mirabi, Small Business Advocate and Director of Small Business, Office of Governor Rick Perry
  • Anthony Silberfeld, Director of Transatlantic Relations, Bertelsmann Foundation
  • Fabrizio Nava, Consul General of Italy
  • Sujiro Seam, Consul General of France and Commercial Counselor

The noon luncheon will be followed by a panel discussion of "The Transatlantic Trade Partnership and What It Means For Texas."
