Energy Outlook

Our Global Forum members have the opportunity to look into the future on Thursday, January 28, when ExxonMobil's Rob Gardner presents the latest energy outlook from the world's largest energy company.

Mr. Gardner is the manager of ExxonMobil Economics & Energy Division's Corporate Strategic Planning Department. It annually produces the ExxonMobil Energy Outlook, the topic of his presentation for the Global Forum meeting at Haynes & Boone, LLP.

The pioneering energy company's website explains, "The Outlook for Energy is ExxonMobil’s long-term global view of energy demand and supply. Its findings help guide ExxonMobil's long-term investments, and we share the Outlook to help promote better understanding of the issues shaping the world’s energy future."

In February, Mr. Gardner discussed the Outlook in a special program for the International Energy Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Gardner's experience in the field of energy began upon graduating from Louisiana State University in 1978 with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering. Mobil Oil employed him in technical and engineering positions in Gulf Coast gas plants. From 1987 to 1990, he worked for Mobil Natural Gas, expanding the marketing organization and dealing with deregulations in U.S. gas markets.

From 1990 to 2001, his assignment in marketing for Liquefied Natural Gas took him to Mobil sites in Indonesia, Qatar, Japan and Singapore. He then returned to the U.S. for domestic management positions for ExxonMobil. And, in 2009, he moved to the Corporate Strategic Planning Department and now manages the group that prepares ExxonMobil's Energy Outlook.
