1st Presidential Debate Watch Party

Monday, September 26, 2016 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

The Lincoln-Douglas debate, just before the Civil War in 1858, wasn’t on TV. And you may be too young to have tuned into the Kennedy-Nixon debate on TV or radio in 1960 during the heat of the Cold War.

But this is 2016 and it’s time for 21st century topics on the big screen!

Join the World Affairs Council and guests for the opening 2016 Presidential Debate Watch Party on Monday, September 26, as the candidates meet in a live broadcast from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

We’ll be gathered at the Angelika Film Center & Cafe in Dallas, a familiar venue for Council members in Mockingbird Station, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane.

Tickets are $10 for members and $20 for non-members. (Reserve your seats here. Tickets may be available at the theater, though a sell-out is likely.)

After the debate, join Council members and others at nearby venues for impromptu discussions of how the candidates scored, what the debate meant to the nation and what to expect in the second debate.
