"Afghanistan: The Next Phase"2010 Military Symposium
Please join the Association of the United States Army – North Texas Chapter for the 2010 Military Symposium focusing on “Afghanistan: The Next Phase” with keynote speaker General George W. Casey, Jr., chief of staff of the United States Army. This will be the third in a series of thought-provoking Symposiums held in concert with the annual Dallas Military Ball. The first Symposium, sponsored by the Air Force Association, covered “The Role of Air Power in Winning Wars.” In 2009, the Navy League sponsored the Symposium and presented the especially timely topic of “Piracy” just before the capture of the Maersk Alabama off the coast of Somalia.
The 2010 Symposium will continue the tradition of addressing relevant military subjects of keen interest to the Dallas/Fort Worth community. The Symposium strives to bring in key military, political and academic speakers to delve into a subject currently in the news and on the minds of many Americans. As in the past, the audience will be comprised of local defense industry, senior community business leaders, academic representatives and active duty/retired service members.
Please find the agenda for the “Afghanistan: The Next Phase” Symposium below:
Please also consider attending the 46th annual Dallas Military Ball immediately following the Symposium at the InterContinental Hotel. Each year, a Service is recognized as the “Honored Service” by the Dallas Military Ball, and this year, the U.S. Army will be the Honored Service. We hope that you will attend both the Symposium and the Saturday evening Ball. For tickets and additional information regarding the Ball, please visit www.dallasmilitaryball.org.
Although we make every attempt to confirm dates, locations, and prices, the nature of our events sometimes necessitates last-minute changes. Please check our website, www.dfwworld.org, prior to purchasing tickets. Also note that $10 will be added to published ticket prices if purchased at the door.
