This project examines how combating public corruption at all levels of government promotes good governance and ensures public trust in the integrity and fairness of elected and politically appointed officials and in the professional civil service. The project highlights the role of both public and private-sector stakeholders in identifying, preventing, and eradicating corruption in government in the United States. Participants will examine a range of federal, state, and local level policies and mechanisms designed to prevent and address public corruption. The project will also focus on the roles of civil society and the media as watchdogs in monitoring and reporting on government corruption.
