Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management
Effective response and recovery from natural disasters, emergencies, and crises require government at all levels to work in collaboration with leaders in the private, nongovernmental, community, and civil society sectors. This project highlights U.S. pre- and post-disaster strategies for managing and responding to natural and man-made disasters; mobilizing resources; and assisting community members with the economic, social, and psychological repercussions of devastating events. The participants will explore the latest predictive modeling programs, visit federal and local response agencies, conduct on-site meetings at emergency command and trauma facilities, and examine shelter models.
