This IVLP On Demand for journalists and public affairs specialists from Niger will examine the rights and responsibilities of a free press, the use of social media and new technologies, and how to combat disinformation in order to strengthen a free and open press environment. This program will allow the Nigerien press (and potentially some government of Niger public affairs officers) to acquire the tools and skills needed to face the new era of disinformation in the Sahel head-on while continuing to improve its media ecosystem. This program will contribute to a sustainable network of trained journalists and practitioners who can subsequently share their knowledge and train members of their communities.
