Mr. Texas

Featuring Lawrence Wright, author, playwright, and staff writer for “The New Yorker”

Time:
5:30 pm - 7:00 pm CT
Mr. Texas

This is the novel our Texas politics deserves,” observes former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke. Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright has woven a tale of a cattle rancher  thrust into the chaotic world of state politics. As he navigates everything from running a campaign to negotiating, he must learn the ropes as he tests his own ethics against the pressures of veteran politicians, savvy lobbyists, and his own party. Mr. Texas offers a very real and a Texas-sized helping of insight into state legislation. The Council welcomes Lawrence Wright for a discussion moderated by Talmage Boston.
