Global Classroom is an annual summer educator workshop hosted by the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth in partnership with ConnecTeach that aims to promote and harness teacher leadership in addressing local and global issues.

The Education for All 2030 agenda, as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, advises a global “humanistic vision of education and development based on human rights and dignity; social justice; inclusion; protection; cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversity; and shared responsibility and accountability.” Accordingly, all rights of a child should apply to education, in education.

In this 3-day workshop, through discussions, speaker sessions, and group activities, we will explore topics ranging from human rights to rights-based education. Through interactive sessions, educators will develop lesson plans and resources that teachers can utilize in North Texas and beyond. The focus of our discussions will be on gender issues, poverty, environment, and global partnerships through the lens of education.

The workshop is open to educators K-12 of any subject, including administrators. The World Affairs Council will provide 18 hours of CPE Professional Development to attendees.
