A coalition of Dallas based organizations is collectively presenting on February 21, 2020, the Dallas LGBTQ Global Symposium on equality and human rights. A diverse group of LGBTQ and ally presenters will highlight Dallas’s rich history of moving from openly opposing to vocally championing human rights and equality. Three dynamic plenary sessions include:
- Global diplomacy, leadership and the state of affairs on global equality, featuring former and current LGBTQ United States ambassadors and top elected leaders of other countries;
- CEOs of multinational corporations discussing the hurdles and benefits of an inclusive and diverse workplace that drives exceptional profit;
- The evolution of the Dallas LGBTQ community’s quest for equality and its participation in raising awareness in the public and private sectors.
The coalition includes the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth, the Embrey Human Rights Program at Southern Methodist University (SMU), the Cox School of Business at SMU, Resource Center, North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.
This engaging program provides an extraordinary opportunity to support Dallas and its diverse communities as they take their place on the world stage in promoting global equality and human rights awareness.
