Mike Pompeo served as the 70th secretary of state from 2018 to 2021 and as director of the CIA from 2017 to 2018. Prior to joining the Trump administration, he was a four-term congressman from Kansas’ 4th congressional district, during which time he served on the House Intelligence Committee, the Energy and Commerce Committee, and the House Select Benghazi Committee. Before his career in public service, Pompeo founded Thayer Aerospace and served as its CEO for more than ten years.

Mike Pompeo graduated first in his class at the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1986. He served as an active-duty cavalry officer in the U.S. Army, spending time abroad in Eastern Europe during the later years of Cold War. Pompeo is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where he was the editor of the Harvard Law Review.
