The World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth has partnered with Japan America Society of Dallas/Fort Worth to host the Geostrategy in the Grassroots series on public affairs, presented by The National Association of Japan-America Societies and The Sasakawa Peace Foundation. This year, the series will focus on a variety of topics relating to how the Russian invasion of Ukraine impacts geostrategic challenges faced by both the U.S. and Japan in Asia.
Featuring a panel of distinguished experts from MIT and Japan’s National Institute for Defense Studies, this event will bring insight into the security, policy, and impact of China on U.S.-Japan affairs.
Given the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and China’s increased aggressiveness in the China Sea and around the island of Taiwan, JASDFW feels that an event focused on the role of the U.S. and Japan in Regional Asian Security would be perfectly timed for our audience and community. This would be our major geopolitical event for fall 2022 and will complement our programming on business, cultural, and social matters. It is also a topic that interests our community – manufacturing, logistics, and heavy industry – is interested in and would help build bridges to North Texas defense industry.
