If Meridian Foodies are going to have a culinary habit, Joyce & Gigi's Kitchen is a great place to indulge it. The food is so glorious you'll want to samba like you were at Carnival in Rio!
The Council's Meridian: Global Young Professionals will experience "The Thrill of Brazil" on Thursday, March 16, at our third annual dinner party at Joyce & Gigi's Kitchen, the extraordinary mother-daughter owned restaurant in East Dallas.
A review in D Magazine not only praised the work of Mother-and-daughter team Joyce Stenvall and Gigliola Aguilera but declared that the restaurant "exudes South American charm in spades."
For The Thrill of Brazil Dinner Party, Gigi will provide a modern twist on traditional Brazilian dishes. Meridians and Latino Center for Leadership Development fellows pay $25 per person for the 3-course meal and the very special welcoming drink, Brazil's national cocktail, the Caipirinha.
On The Thrill of Brazil menu: Crispy rice beef croquette, Feijoda (black bean and ham stew) and brigadeiros (truffles) for dessert. [Joyce & Gigi's will also make vegan or vegetarian meals upon request. To ask for either, contact Alana Buenrostro]
The Thrill of Brazil Dinner Party begins with a 6:30 p.m. "Welcome Cocktail" followed by the 7 p.m. dinner. Joyce & Gigi's Kitchen is at 1623 N. Hall St. The dinner is limited to 60 guests.
