The most reliable gateway to beneficial international involvement in North Texas is a World Affairs Council membership. It provides access to opportunities to attend programs and social events. It gives a member the opportunity to make a positive difference in a young life by speaking to classrooms across the region. Members volunteer to host foreign delegations - you’ll show them how North Texans live and how we both see the world and wish we could see the world. Some of our members learn to cook international cuisine from expert chefs. Some members travel to such places as presidential libraries, both in the United States and Mexico. Some travel to the Middle East with experienced guides. We took Council delegations to Cuba before AND after the thaw. All of this and more becomes an opportunity to learn about the way your planet works. Get involved and you’ll see firsthand how global is local.
