Meridian Young Professionals Service Project with North Texas Food Bank

We've all heard the phrase, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi is often credited with saying this, but the real quote goes:

"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Meridian Young Professionals are invited to participate in a Fall Service Project at the North Texas Food Bank Distribution Center on Saturday, October 9 from 1:00 – 3:30 PM. Join us as we give back to our community and this organization that supports so many families in our region. Volunteers will help sort, bag, and box food for hungry North Texans in a warehouse environment and will be expected to follow all NTFB safety precautions, including wearing masks and closed toed shoes.

The North Texas Food Bank was founded in 1982 to address the critical issue of hunger in our community. The Council will honor one of its founders, Kathryn Hall, along with her husband Craig Hall, as this year’s H. Neil Mallon Award recipients. In FY20, the North Texas Food Bank provided 96.9 million meals to kids, seniors, and families in the region and was instrumental in combatting hunger in the face of the Covid-19 crisis.
