About the Speakers:

Aaron Danis is a professor and a career and counterterrorism specialist at the Institute of World Politics in Washington DC. Danis holds a bachelor’s degree in military studies and a Master’s in Security Policy Studies. Danis is a retired U.S. Army Intelligence officer from the U.S. government after serving as the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) faculty chair to the National Intelligence University while it transitioned from the Defense Intelligence Agency to ODNI. Previously, he served in the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, U.S. Coast Guard Intelligence, the Treasury Department, the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission, The National Counterterrorism Center, and the National Defense University.

Ramona Harper is a retired Senior Foreign Service Officer of the U.S. Department of State specializing in public diplomacy. She holds a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from Florida International University and a Master of Science degree from the National Defense University. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Harper was an academic counselor and administrator in higher education. She has served overseas in Senegal, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Panama, and Germany. She is multilingual speaking French, Spanish, and German. After retiring, Harper recruited for the Foreign Service and Civil Service in the Bureau of Human Resources of the State Department. She is also a liaison with the International Visitors Leadership Program.
